Geminid meteor shower 2026 in Ibadan: the sky above you
The real sky over Ibadan, Nigeria at 14 December 2026, 02:00 local time: 3,227 stars above the horizon, including Sirius, Canopus, Capella. This is the peak night of the Geminids, usually the strongest meteor shower of the year. Free to view, printable as an A3 star chart.
The Geminids radiant is 63° above the horizon over Ibadan at that moment — the poster marks it.
The Moon was below the horizon over Ibadan at that moment — a waxing crescent, 21% lit — so it leaves the sky to the stars, and the poster shows it the way the night really was.
Brightest named stars up at that moment: Sirius, Canopus, Capella, Rigel, Procyon, Betelgeuse. Every star is a real one from the HYG catalogue, placed with the exact latitude (7.38°) and longitude (3.91°) of Ibadan. North is up and east is on the left, as when you look up.
Printing it at home? There is a second paper: the same sky as ink on white. A full-bleed night A3 bands on a home printer and drinks a cartridge; the ink one does not. Same price, pick either on the next page.
Preview free, one-off payment, no account. Change the place and the line of text on the poster page, or see which moment to pick for a birth, a wedding or an anniversary.
