Terms of sale
These terms cover everything sold on this site. Buying means accepting them.
What you buy
A star chart of a place and a moment you choose, drawn from the HYG star catalogue and standard ephemerides, delivered either as a print-ready A3 PDF or as an A3 poster printed and shipped to you.
Delivery
The PDF is available the moment the payment clears, from the page you land on and from the link we email to the address Stripe collected. That link stays valid, so you can download the file again later. Printed posters are produced and shipped by a print partner; transit times depend on your country.
Price and payment
Prices are shown in US dollars and include what you see at checkout. Payment is handled entirely by Stripe: we never see or store your card details.
What the chart is and is not
Every star is a real one, placed for the coordinates, minute and time zone you enter. The chart is a decorative and commemorative object: it is not a navigational, scientific or legal document, and we do not warrant it as one.
Your own text
The optional line of text is yours. Do not use it for anything unlawful or infringing; we may refuse to print an order whose text is clearly illegal, and refund it in full.
Use of what you receive
Your file is yours to print, keep and give away, as many copies as you like, for yourself or as a gift. Reselling the file itself, or the drawing as a stock asset, is not included.
Commercial licence
A separate commercial licence, sold on this site, lets you sell unlimited physical copies of one specific sky and comes with vector and print-ready files. Its full text is printed on the certificate delivered with it, and it prevails over the paragraph above for that sky. Licences bought as a pack of codes work the same way: each code is one licence for one sky, usable once. Commercial licence for your star map.
Liability
Our liability for an order is limited to what you paid for it. Nothing here removes rights you have by law where you live.
