The sky over the proposal, as an engagement star map

A proposal is usually planned down to the minute and then over in one. The chart keeps the minute: the stars that were above that viewpoint, that beach or that kitchen at the moment the question was asked.

Because it was planned, the time is usually known — the one occasion where you can draw the sky to the minute instead of guessing the evening. Give the town and the hour from the phone photos; the camera clock is accurate enough.

It works as the first thing on the wall of a shared flat, or as the engagement present that answers the ring without trying to compete with it.

Printing it at home? There is a second paper: the same sky as ink on white. A full-bleed night A3 bands on a home printer and drinks a cartridge; the ink one does not. Same price, pick either on the next page.

Preview free, one-off payment by card, no account. The place, the moment and the line of text are yours to change on the next page; the example shown here is a real sky over Reykjavik on 20 December 2025, 22:40 local time.

The line of text

The line under the chart can be the question or the answer: “Yes — Reykjavik, 20 December 2025”. Printed small, under the chart.

Questions people ask

The proposal was in daylight — does the chart still work?

Yes. The stars are there at noon too, only drowned out by the Sun; the chart shows the sky as it stands, which is the honest version. Many people pick the evening of the same day instead, when it could actually be seen. Both are correct drawings.

Can I take the time from a photo?

Yes, and it is the best source: open the photo details on the phone and use that hour and minute. The place is the town, or the viewpoint name if you want it printed.

Can I make it as a surprise before the proposal?

Of course — type the place and the planned hour. If the moment slips by an hour, the sky turns by about fifteen degrees; you can make a corrected one afterwards for $4.99.
